Older Townsville homes weren’t built for the way we live now. Many lack proper insulation, modern airflow or solar-ready electrical layouts. A new home is designed from day one for the local climate — high ceilings, ceiling fans throughout, cross-ventilation, light-coloured roofing, air-conditioning, and a build code that meets current cyclone standards.
Lower running costs from day one
Newer homes are far cheaper to live in. Modern insulation, efficient appliances, LED lighting and solar-ready roofs can dramatically cut power bills in a town where the air-conditioner does a lot of work. Over a 10-year stretch, the savings often pay for a serious chunk of the upgrade from buying older.
Government incentives still favour new
Queensland continues to offer strong incentives for buyers building or buying brand-new homes — particularly first home buyers. Stamp duty concessions and the First Home Owner Grant for new builds can put tens of thousands of dollars back in your pocket.
